Writer's Workshop
Mini lesson:
Children were asked to choose a writing goal and mark it on their goal sheet.
They could choose from:
spacing, writing lots of sounds for each word, remembering a capital at the beginning, end punctuation, words and pictures match, and having lots of details.
Math
*What's My Rule game - children were "chose" to be part of a group because they shared a common attribute. The rest of the class needed to determine the secret attribute.
*ordering height by size - smallest to largest
the children used a string that was the same height as them to compare themselves to others in their color group. They had to line up the strings in size order.
