Writer's Workshop
*Mini lesson - "when you are done, you've just begun". We learned that writers edit and revise their work. They check to see if anything is missing or if it could be better if they added more (details or words). Many of the children tried revising their writing work from yesterday while others began new pieces to teach us about something they know.
Science
We began our study of weather today. We talked about how scientists use their 5 senses to help them observe what they are studying. We went outdoors and observed the sky and the air - children shared what they saw, heard, smelled and felt. We read a big book about weather, "Weather and Seasons".
Reader's Workshop
*Mini lesson - readers use a whisper voice and ask others kindly to read quietly.
Math
We read, "Ten Black Dots". Each child created their own dot picture and what their dots can be.
*We explored the #9 and made sets
