Today's Activities
Writer's Workshop
Minilesson: writers can use speech/thought bubbles to show what a person is saying or thinking. We read, "Piggy and Elephant, I Want to Take a Nap" as an example.
Social Story
Mrsl Benoit visited this morning with a social story about how our thoughts and our feelings and connected. We can often tell what a person is feeling by how they look. We need to look at a person's face to see how they are feeling.
Literacy
We read, "Rhyming Dust Bunnies" and played Rhyming Bingo.
Social Studies
We read part of a book, "Tapenum's Day" as an introduction to Maine long ago. We explored some aritifacts that help us learn about life long ago - animal skins, birch bark, shells, a hand drum.
We learned a song, "Land of the Silver Birch"
Math
Children worked with 10 frames to show different ways to show the same number - 7 can be 2+2+3 or 6+1 or 5+2, etc.
We made a name graph to show how many letters children have in their name.
We read, "Ten Little Beasties"
Special
Art class with Miss LaRochelle
