Review of how to label a picture in a "How To" book. Children added labels to How To's that were already finished and then went on to a new How To or to finish another piece of work.

Reader's Workshop
Lesson: reading books that are too easy do not help us grow as readers
Children looked for books in their book bag that were too easy and traded them for more challenging books (but not too hard! :)
Story - "Hedgie's Surprise" by Jan Brett
Math
*Number scroll writing
*pairs of children chose survey questions, polled the class and recorded their results
Special - P. E. with Mr. Gray and Mrs. Crane
Mrs. Crane introduced the children to asparagus. Those who wanted to tried it (raw). The children learned about how quickly asparagus can grow (up to 10 inches a day) and heard a story about the vegetable.
