Writer's Workshop
Children reviewed using the resources available as tools to help them complete their writing.
Literacy Center
We read, "The Cat in the Hat" and then the children voted which Dr. Suess book that we have read so far was their favorite. They picked, "The Foot Book".
Each child created a Foot Book character and rhyming name to adorn our Dr. Suess doorway.
Reader's Workshop
We talked about how a "book walk" can help you choose a book before you decide to include it in your book bag. Children did their own book walks looking for a book of interest.
Story - "Too Many Toys", By David Shannon
Math
*Children added numbers to their 100's chart
*We played an attribute game, "Fishing". The teacher "catches" several children who share a common attribute and the class has to determine what the caught "fish" have in common (gray shirts, dark hair, shorts, etc.)
*Children used the string they measured for their height to compare with 3-4 other children and arrange all the strings in length order (shortest to tallest).
Special - P.E.
100's share - Molly
Volunteers - Kim Orso and Claire Guillmette (AM)
