Literacy
*children learned that when writing, "when you are done, you have just began", a catchy little phrase to help them to remember to check to see if they can add any more to their work and if not, they can start a new piece. Each child drew and "wrote" about something from their "summer-in-a-bag" or another topic of their choice.
*we completed our Butterfly Song Book, creating the title page and butterfly art work.
Math
*we learned a new game: "count and sit". Children took turns counting to 10 (passing the number around the circle). The 10th person had to sit down. This is good practice for children to "count on", when they need to think of the next number when they didn't start at number one.
*we completed our daily routines: # line, calendar, weather, and temperature.
Story - "Marcel and Farfallina", the story of the friendship between a caterpillar and a gosling, who both change but remain friends.
Special - Music
Whole school fire drill practice
