Literacy
*Writer's workshop - we reviewed what it means when we say, "when I am done, I have just begun"... writer's review their work and ask themselves if there is anything else they should add. If the are all finished, they can start a new piece.
*Reader's Workshop - we modeled and practiced how it looks when we move to and from the tables for reading time - moving our bodies carefully and using kind words. All children read independently or with a partner for 6 minutes. (we are building our reading stamina!)

Special Project
*Children practiced using watercolors, writing their name and designs of their choice with crayons and then adding water color paint to decorate.
Math
*We read a book about birthdays, a celebration of a baby through her 5th year of birth - each year we are one year older!
*We sang a song about the 12 months of the year and then children added their paper birthday candle to the cake for their birthday month. We looked to see what month had the most birthday candles and the fewest.
Story
*We read, "Wemberly Worried" and talked about what we worry about.
