The children started their 2nd "how-to" booklet today - How to Get Ready to Play in the Snow. What do you do first? Next? and so on!
Math Centers
*Draw a Bug - teen number recognition practice
*Monster Squeeze game - guessing a secret number - thinking about numbers that are more or less than a given number.
*Bears on a bus - a math assessment to determine the ability to create 2 groups that make 10. The children worked in pairs and used a ten frame as the seats on their bus. They filled the 10 seats with 2 different colors of bears and recorded the combination on their number recording sheet.
Literacy Centers
*Scholastic News - "We are all the same, we are all different", a tribute to Dr. King's work in changing discriminatory laws. The children watched a short Sscholastic video as well.
*Snow Day, write the room - using clipboards the children hunted for 12 different pictures and words to record on their sheet (words and pictures)
*Mexican art work - children worked at several different examples of colorful Mexican art work and began their own creations
