Writer's Workshop
*children have been introduced to "lists". We discussed how using lists can be a helpful tool in many ways. The children were asked to choose a topic and then create a list to support that topic. For example, If the topic is Native Americans long ago, then their list might include: wigwams, hunting, planting, canoe travel, etc.
Literacy Centers
*review and reread our Native poem, "A Wigwam is My Home"
*Finish individual booklets, "Me", featuring the ending, "-ing".
Reader's Workshop
Children review how to replace their book choices in their book bags and practice reading their "just right" books with a partner.
Story - "Don't Be Silly, Miss Millie!"

*children work with pattern blocks to help develop descriptive vocabulary for sorting: thick/thin, big/small, colors, and shapes
