Today's Activities
Writer's Workshop
Children thought about how they "move" or how they like to move and drew and wrote about it. We are working on motion vocabulary - fast, slow, jump, curvy, etc. They were asked to be descriptive. (i.e. I jump high on my trampoline).
Math
The children used the data they collected from their surveys yesterday to create a graph to depict their findings. They will share these with the class at a later date.
Many also were able to move on to their growing number scrolls.
Reader's Workshop
Children reviewed how to organize their just right reading books from easiest and hardest and then took turns with their reading partner to read their pile.
Literacy
We learned a new poem, "Pussy Willow". The children practiced reciting/singing it with e and then created pussy willow pictures with cut paper, crayons, and paint.
Special
Art Studio
Story - Piggie and Elephant, "Can I Play?"
Volunteers - Nancy Booze and Jenn Kumin
