Writer's Workshop
We reviewed the important elements of a true story: setting, characters, plot! The children were introduced to a chart at their writing table that could prompt them to add these elements to their story if they were missing.
Math
*creating and continuing a pattern
*using a five frame, children explore ways to make 5 and addition and subtraction within 5
*triangle review - what makes a triangle a triangle and creating a triangle for our display
Story
"Where Did You Get Your Moccasins? A story about a Native Canadian child and his new pair of moccassins which he brings to school and tells his classmates how they came to be made by his Kookum (grandmother).
Literacy
*Rereading our poem, "Leaves, Leaves" and exploring the difference between letters and words
*Tic Tac Toe Rhyming Bingo
*Classmate picture and name matching game
