Writer's Workshop
We reviewed how writers write a little and then read a little - going back and forth to help remember what comes next and to check our work.
Reader's Workshop
We discussed how readers often use the cover of a book to decide whether or not it is of interest and to sometimes wonder what might happen - posing a question to ourselves. Children read independently to self for 7 minutes and then with a partner for 7 minutes.
Literacy Centers
*We read a Scholastic News about Martin Luther King and discussed how he would want us to solve problems - by talking and sharing ideas.
*We learned our last 2 spelling words: "we" and "on". The children used these new words to create a page for a class book, "We can ride on...."
