Writer's Workshop
We collectively wrote a how-to this morning: "How to Be A Friend". The children thought of great ways to be friendly and we drew and wrote the steps together. They returned to the how-to pieces they were working on on Friday or began a new piece.
Math Centers
*Practice building teen numbers with a double ten frame. Children took turns recording the corresponding number sentence (i.e. 18=10+8)
*Roll and cover - practice "adding on". When rolling 2 dice, say the name of the larger number and then keep counting while you touch the dots on the other die to get the sum total.
Literacy Centers
*Read to self (just right books)
*spelling word practice (spelling graph and word spinner)
*"My Oh My", a new class predictable booklet - adding illustrations and reading.
Story - "The Great Fuzz Frenzy"
Special - P. E. and Music
100th Day Share - Megan
