Today's Activities
Writer's Workshop
*We reviewed 3 student true stories (with their permission! :) to see if they had followed the criteria for a "ture story" - showing/telling "who", "where", and "what". The children were very receptive to the suggestions made by their classmates. Everyone tried to include these 3 important points in their writing today.
Math centers
*counting fish in the fish pond, taking turns with a partner (scattered and line configurations)
*playing "What's in your pocket?", adding and taking away objects from a given amount
*Number writing practice on our November calendars, #'s 11;20
Literacy Centers
*practicing our new spelling word "like" - draw and write about something you "like"
*introduction and reading a kindergarten book, "Mom"
*playing a rhyming game - "You're outta here!" - finding the picture that did not rhyme with the other 2
