Today's Activities
*Writer's Workshop
Children continue to practice the skills that make writing easy to read: spaces between words, pictures and words that match, writing all the sounds you can hear in each word and remembering end punctuation.
Math Centers
*Spin- a-number game, children practice reading and counting numbers to 10, show good sportsmanship, and work cooperatively
*Number and Dot Card Match-up
*Measurement - given an object as the standard unit of measure (a marker) the children were asked to sort their objects into groups that were longer or shorter than their standard unit. They practiced lining up the items to be compared end to end.
Literacy Workshop
We learned a new poem, "Funny Turkey". The children practiced reading it several times and then made their own turkeys complete with "gobble!" speech bubbles.
Story - "Owl Babies" - please ask your child to retell the story to you. :) (They had fun helping me tell the story)
Special - Library
