Today's Activities
Writer's Workshop
Children learned about the "-ing" ending today as so many of them tell stories where they are doING something. The children were excited to incorporate this ending into their writing. We had crowns they could use to help them remember the letters, the King of -ing crowns - they were very popular!
Math
*Adding two numbers together to graph the resulting number in a dice race game.
*Review of the 4 basic shapes, their names, and words that help to describe their special characteristics.
Literacy Centers
*Work with ryhming words
*Syllable game (children could move their game piece by the number of syllables in their given word.
Story - "Pumpkin Jack", the story of a boy and his jack-o-lantern that is put out in the garden after it begins to rot. He watches what happens to it through the ensuing seasons.
Special - Library
