Today's Activities
Writer's Workshop
Children practiced telling true stories over several pages, thinking, telling, drawing, then writing.
Math
*Top - It - this game is like the traditional game of "war", each child flips over a card in their stack and the player with the greatest number gets to keep both cards (comparing numbers)
*We read, "10 Black Dots" and the children were asked to count out 10 black dots and create a picture in which to incorporate their dots.
Story
We read, "Pumpkin Heads" and talked about how many different ways a pumpkin can be carved into a jack-o-lantern.
We also read, "Old Mother Hubbard" and listened for the rhyming words.
Literacy
We learned 2 new songs, "Five Little Pumpkins" and "Jack-o-Lantern". The children used stick puppets to help act out the pumpkin song
