Today's Activities
Writer's Workshop
We read, "Pumpkin Trouble" as an introduction to adding speech bubbles to our writing. Many children tried using speech bubbles in their writing today to show what the characters were saying.
Math Centers
*sorting objects by several different attributes (color, shape, size, kind)
*finishing up our number writing books
*adding on - children were asked to figure out "how many"? when we added one more to the frog pond each time (we also tried 2 more)
Story
"Jingle Dancer", the story of a Native girl today who learns about her heritage from all her family members.
Literacy
We learned a new poem today, "A Wigwam is My Home". The children practiced reading it and created an illustration to accompany the poem.
