*Children practiced telling their story over several pages to help plan their booklets. They followed the steps for writer's workshop: think, draw, write.

*We learned our 2nd spelling word: "like". The children learned a song that would help them remember how to spell this word (to the tune of Frere Jacque):

We reviewed how to pick a favorite part or most important part of a book to share with a partner.
Story
We read, "Corduroy", and discussed ideas for most important part.
Math
*introduction to sorting - children worked in pairs to sort their collection of objects by a self-selected attribute (color, size, shape,etc.)
*introduction to Everyday Math games in the computer lab. The children played "Top-It", identifying the number that had a greater value.
