Good-bye September!
Today's Activities
Writing
The children listened to the story "No, David!", and thought of ways that David could do better! We then made our own No! book, with each child contributing a page! They were asked to tell something that would be a bad choice and draw it and then a "yes" choice of what would be better to do! It will make a fun class book for them to share with you at home - coming soon!
Math
*The children were introduced to a game called Dice Race. They used a die to roll and record the number they got and used a graph paper to help them determine the number that had the greatest number of rolls.
*We used Quick Look cards - dots like dice on large cards. The children are shown the card for 2-3 seconds and then asked how many they saw. Our goal is for them to see groups of dots or configurations that they recognize instantly.
Story
We read, "Little Cloud", by Eric Carle. The children then added a page to their weather booklets, "Weather can be cloudy".
Literacy
We practiced private reading and partner reading again - there is great improvement!
Special - Library at the Creation Station - children made mazes!
